Foundations of LGBTI Inclusion training

SAMESH has been working with SHINE SA to deliver the Foundations of LGBTI Inclusion training to organisations and individuals across South Australia for the last few years.

Even with COVID-19 impacting our state and how training could be delivered, SAMESH delivered 22 training sessions to almost 500 workers across South Australia between July 2020 and June 2021.

Our team members who deliver this training travelled as far as Port August and Whyalla. We also met workers from Berri and other regional areas, all wanting to be inclusive of the LGBTIQ+ community members.

This training has been extremely popular, with the remainder of 2021 fully booked.

We have picked some of our favourite comments in feedback from the training:

“I have learnt so much and realised there is much more to learn. Thank you for this fantastic training.”

“The facilitator was passionate and knowledgeable, sharing their lived experiences as a member of the community really put into perspective how narrow our systems and approaches can be.”

“While I knew the basics, learning about the frequency and impact LGBTIQ+ discrimination has inspired to go back to my office and continue advocating for LGBTIQ+ clients and the community.”
